A new task force has been formed to make sure that public offerings and trading of securities are fair and safe. This task force includes members from the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority, the ministries of Justice and Trade, and various security agencies. They are joined by officers from the Federal Police Commission and the Financial Intelligence Service. Together, they will work to identify and punish companies and individuals involved in deceptive or illegal practices related to offering shares to the public.
Today, representatives from these government institutions signed an agreement to formalize their collaboration. Among those present at the signing ceremony were Brook Taye(phd), who leads the Authority, Gedion Timotheos(phd), the Minister of Justice, Muluken Amare from the Financial Intelligence Service, and Zelalem Mengiste from the Federal Police Commission.
